The Challenging Moments in My Life….. CBD

There is another meaning in CBD now…. Not Central Business District … but to me they are Carry, Bathing, Diaper….

1) Carry Javier in my arm
2) Bath Him
3) Changing Javier’s Diaper

It is only the second day; Javier is so fragile and soft. I went for the one hour parent baby care course, doesn’t really teach much…. Only bathing, sterilizing milk bottles and that’s all. Maybe they think that carrying a baby is really inborn in all of us…However I still manage to obtain a “Certificate of Attendance” after the course… not that I had passed all the tests in Carrying, Bathing and changing diaper… but just a prove that I attend the course.. Hai~ Good luck to me….

The nurse wheeled Javier to the ward to be with us… So now is to test out my inborn capability… LOL

“C” pass with maybe with distinction, left 2 more to go…. *Cross Fingers & Toes*

Webbies and gang visited and carol carried Javier easily in her arms, how enjoyable for him.

The Time Has Come...

“Wake up! Wake up! I think going to give birth soon…..” That is the crucial sentence which makes me jump up from my bed. The time has come…. She took a quick shower while I called my mother-in-law. Next moment is to grab the hospital bag and off we go.
Frankly speaking, I am still quite daze…. Lol~

Shortly after we reached Geneagles hospital, she was brought straight to the labour ward while I settle the administrative stuffs. Before I wrote further, just like to quickly explain why I choose Geneagles…. Simple…. I want my son to be delivered at the same place as his daddy aka ME!

Time check : 6.15am
Her contraction come and go…. pain pain pain…the nurse asked whether she wanted to inject epidural to ease the pain… but we reject… why? Cause we thought that epidural is an one time injection that will only last for average 4 hours…. MYTH! (Fact : Epidural will last throughout the labour). It was only when our gynae came and explain to us the fact, she immediately agreed on the epidural. Poor darling, have to suffer 3 hours of pain…

The epidural injection is…. ehm…. to a certain extent…. scary…. Not to frighten the rest so I will leave this portion out…. LOL~

Time really passed so fast…. When it is near to 3.15pm… the opening already reached 8-9cm. Our gynae was informed and proceeding down to hospital. The nurse started to unpack the “Tools” and laid them out neatly for the doc. When the doc came, the situation started to tense. Although I was armed with video and digital camera, but frankly at that moment, really find no time to use it. Seeing her in extreme pain really hurt me. (this is my personal opinion : Going for prenatal course is a waste of money, think twice). Doctor asked me to help count from 1 to 10, for her to push for that duration while two nurses assist in pushing her abdomen. After 3 pushes, doc decided to use suction. Here it goes, 1… 2 … 3…. PUSH!!!! I see the head….. JAVIER IS BORN!!!!!

Doctor quickly use his finger to slot into the thick 3 layers umbilical cord around his neck and said “See 3 rounds, and dun worry, it’s loose”. Hearing those words made both of us felt very very relieved.

Looking at Javier and hearing him cried… how should I put it… It is the most beautiful scene that I have ever seen in my life…

I am a dad now!
